"The two-story, 12,000-sq.ft. library will feature an improved layout, energy-efficient building systems and new interior finishes," Alan Nahmias, president of Stalco Construction said. "In addition to providing print, digital and online reference materials, the space will serve as a meeting and lecture facility."

The newly renovated library will include: a checkout counter, a lounge area, 24 individual study stations, a librarian's office, study group rooms and conference rooms.

“NUMC undertook the renovation in order to bring the library, originally constructed in the l960s, to current technological and interior design standards,”  EGA Partner Lou Giacalone said. “The client expressed the desire to provide its medical residents, interns, and faculty with a state-of-the-art research facility as well as to create an environment that would encourage informal interaction among staff."

Can we get some new librarians too? 1. They are loud and talk all the time 2. They don't do anything since there are no books in the library 3. They yell at you for using the "reference computer" 4. They yell at you for using the copier 5. The Russian one isn't very friendly 6. They never open the library on time 7. They yell at you if they see a water bottle in your backpack You get the gist
