Oct. 19: Lupus Walk in East Meadow, Home Depot Increases Security

The five things you should know today.

1. The Lupus Alliance of America's Walk Along For Lupus event will take place in Eisenhower Park on Sunday. Read more about the event at 10 a.m.

2. Police are increasing security at Home Depot locations in Nassau and Suffolk counties after an alleged bomb was found in a Huntington location and a bomb scare took place at an Elmont store.


3. Calling all parents of tweens! DreamCatcher Entertainment will host its Tweens Night Out! So take out the kids for a fun night!

4. In case you missed it, the Nassau County Police Department mourned the death of Joseph P. Olivieri, an officer who was killed while responding to a car crash on the Long Island Expressway.

5. Vacant storefronts on East Meadow Avenue are all too common. Read more about one that may have a new tenant coming in soon at 12 p.m.
