Shortly after midnight, Dilcia Miguel of Westbury gave birth to the first baby of 2013 at Nassau University Medical Center.
Her baby girl, Sarah, entered the world at 12:04 a.m., weighing 7 lbs. and 4 oz. She was named after Miguel's mother, who passed away in October.

According to hospital spokesperson Shelley Lotenberg, Miguel said she thanks God for this wonderful gift.
This is the first child for Miguel, age 33.
