NUMC Maternity Ward Receives Donated Baby Items

A NuHealth nurse gave crocheted blankets and newborn clothes in memory of her grandmother and nephew.

The Nassau University Medical Center recently received donated crocheted baby blankets, sweaters and hats for its newly renovated maternity ward.

Darlene Allen, a nurse at A. Holly Patterson Extended Care Facility in Uniondale, brought in the items on behalf of her family's foundation, the Mildred W. Fairclough Foundation, Designs by Leese and the Crocheting Group of King and Spalding, in Atlanta, Ga.

Allen donated the items in memory of her grandmother and nephew.
