NuHealth Receives $100,000 Donation to Transform NUMC Entrance

The money was raised by Zaki Hossain, NuHealth Foundation board member, and his business partner, Jerry Dabek.

The NuHealth Foundation received a $100,000 donation on Thursday that will be used to transform the Nassau University Medical Center's entrance on Carmen Avenue.

The money was raised by Zaki Hossain, NuHealth Foundation board member, and his business partner, Jerry Dabek.

"One of the main reasons that I did this is because this hospital is always helping the needy community," Hossain said. "I live in Hicksville so this is my community hospital."

The project that is scheduled to start in the summer will include a new glass door, walkway pavers, benches and landscaping. Like East Meadow Patch on Facebook

Arthur A. Gianelli, president and CEO of the NuHealth System, said that visitors and employees will appreciate the transformation.
"It matters to people that when they come in, they feel good," Gianelli said.

Deidra Parrish Williams, executive director of the NuHealth Foundation, said that Hossain and Dabek should be applauded for their generous donation.

"This is huge for us," she said. "Not only did they give financial gifts, but they are setting an example to other philanthropists."
