Nov. 30: Eight Men Illegally Solicit Work in East Meadow, Hurricane Sandy Toy Drive

The five things you should know today.

1. In case you missed it, eight men allegedly solicited work without licenses or permits in East Meadow on Wednesday. The men from Maine will have to return to Nassau County for a December court date.

2. Pocket Change to Make a Change will start collecting toys for their Hurricane Sandy Toy Drive. Read more about the drive at 12 p.m.

3.Nassau County Presiding Officer Norma Gonsalves recently called to to expand federal disaster relief funding programs and grant opportunities to assist small businesses to recover financial losses due to Superstorm Sandy. Read more about it at 10 a.m.
