Nov. 11: Veterans Day, Jim Norton, Man Hit by Car

Some things to keep an eye on in the local community.

  1. Merrick Patch has learned that a male, approximately 50 years old, was struck by a car in front of Waldbaums on Merrick Road. According to Ron Luparello of the Merrick Fire Department, the man was taken to Nassau University Medical Center with head injuries. He is in serious condition.
  2. Self-hating comedian Jim Norton will be performing four shows this weekend at the Brokerage Comedy Club in Bellmore. Shows will be at 8 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday.
