Nov. 1: FEMA Aid Available to Residents, TOH Cleanup

The five things you should know today.

1. The Federal Emergency Management Agency issued a statement that said disaster aid is available to East Meadow area residents and business owners who incurred damage from Superstorm Sandy this week.

2. The Town of Hempstead announced on Wednesday that early half of the downed trees had been cleared from town roadways by the highway department.

3. In case you missed it, the County announced that it will host its “Hurricane Sandy Trick-or-Treat Halloween Party” on Saturday.

Very happy with the towns cleanup.I was very surprised to see and hear the sounds of chainsaws and frontend loaders pushing away fallen trees and opening up streets so early in the morning.I thank you.We have to all hang in there.

I agree . The Sanitation Dept. was very diligent. So grateful that they managed thru streets to collect the garbage. It is so appreciated!
