'Annie' Filming at Eisenhower Park This Week

Film crews will be shooting a scene involving several stunt cars and two helicopters on Wednesday and Thursday.

A production company will be filming a scene for the modern remake of "Annie" inside Eisenhower Park Wednesday and Thursday, Patch has confirmed.

The Nassau County Police Department advises residents that Park Boulevard, between Hempstead Turnpike and Merrick Avenue, will be closed to through traffic between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. both days.

The movie scene involves several stunt cars and two helicopters, according to police.

"We ask that you not be alarmed and for safety purposes, the Nassau County Police Department will be on-site all day supervising the filming activity," the advisory states.

The film, expected to hit theaters in late December, will feature Quvenzhané Wallis in the title role. Jamie Foxx will play the role of Benjamin Stacks, an update of the character Daddy Warbucks, and Cameron Diaz will play Miss Hannigan.

Production on the film, which is directed by Will Gluck and produced by Jay-Z and Will Smith, began in August.

The golf course and The Carltun will remain open during filming; patrons will be directed to that parking lot only.

Back in January, filming of the FX television series, "The Americans," featuring Keri Russell, affected traffic in and around East Meadow. Crews filmed a stunt involving a car crash into a tree inside the park.
