May 27: Veteran's Shabbat, Registration, Social Media

Here's a look at some things to keep an eye out for today in East Meadow.

Good morning East Meadow, and thank goodness it's Friday! There's plenty to do today, but first, let's give some kudos to the East Meadow High School Softball team for a great season. Here's a look at some things that are happening before we get into the Memorial Day weekend.

1. Weather: It looks like there is a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m. today, and hail could be part of the equation, according to the National Weather Service. There could also be areas of fog in the morning with the high hitting 81 degrees in East Meadow.

2. To honor veterans, of East Meadow will be holding a at 8:15 p.m. This will feature dinner and a service to recognize these individuals. All are welcome. Please contact Nadine Salzman at ALEXACARLY@aol.com for additional details.

3. Register now for Spring and Summer Art Camps for kids 6 and up at a private garden view studio. At the park, in the garden or in an air-conditioned studio, all art fundamentals are taught to students, basic to advanced, in all mediums. Summer Art Camp starts June 27. Work for the 8:00 AM opening begins early in the morning.Read More The grounds at Speno Memorial Park were waterlogged, which could have resulted in slipping hazards and extensive property damage. If it's any consolation, we're as sorry about the cancellation as the people who would have attended the event.
