Mangano Thanks the Family of Harlie Treanor for Donation to Recreation Program

The Treanor family raised more than $9,000 for the Nassau County Summer Recreation Program through the Harlie Treanor Memorial Fund.

County Executive Edward Mangano recently thanked the mother and sister of Harlie Treanor for donating $9,800 to the Nassau County Summer Recreation Program.

Harlie Treanor, a former Bowling Green K-Kid, died when the boat she was on capsized in Oyster Bay on July 4, 2012.

Treanor's mother, Joy Treanor, and her sister, Mady, raised money through the Harlie Treanor Memorial Fund, which helps to send deserving children to camp.

The Treanors donation is enough to send three children a year to attend camp for six summers.

Both Harlie Treanor and her sister, Mady, attended the Nassau County Summer Recreation Program.
