Our govt exists to maintain civil society in times of crises. Once again, it has failed. Why enlarge something that fails at its primary mission ?

Wow! Well said. Do any of our leaders have any courage ? Where is the outrage over Alabama utility workers being bullied away because they were not union ? We deserve so much better from govt and one of the most expensive utility companies in the nation

We will continue to receive the same crappy service while paying some of the highest rates in the country until our representatives get the courage to hold LIPA mgmt accountable. The problem is that our politicians are all talk and no action. But at least we can get a shower at the aquatic center. Now I can say my tax dollars are at work. Unacceptable!

We finally have electricity in my part of East Meadow.. I also received my LIPA bill in the mail... which, reluctantly I have to pay!! Hope East Meadow is not the forgotten area in the next storm!
Deedee November 04, 2012 at 02:47 PM
I know what you mean Robert... I happened to have Hannity on the radio two days ago, when he shared the LIPA workers screaming comments to the volunteers who came here to help restore electricity. The LIPA workers were calling th volunteers SCABS, and told them to go home. I realize now, that LIPA workers need to have a shakedown, and their OVERTIME PAY needs to be well accounted for. They are getting away with way too much!!!!! Meanwhile, East Meadow residents were freezing!

Louis Maybe we should all stop paying our bills, and see them suffer a little. Freezing in my own home!

Since LIPA can't get to customers fast enough, they should provide families with generators who currently doesn't have one and also should be resposible to pay for gas for those who currently have one in place. They are to blame since they weren't prepared as they claimed and didn't have backup crews readily available prior to the storm.
