Why are there about 60 LIPA trucks sittng ideally by at the Nassau Colisuem. We still have no power in east meadow. We have down wires and cables laying on the ground. Does LIPA care??? The Nassau gov't stinks Mangano and Murray are all talk. They were not prepared for this and they stated they were. Its discusting and inappropriate.

LATE BREAKING LIPA INCOMPETENCE UPDATE..... They sent a crew on 8 linemen on 2 trucks to my house. They came to the conclusion that they could not do anything w/;o a tree guy. They have known this from Day 1, and have been reminded every day. Why the hell do they have crews of lineman w/o a tree cutter? That is like sending a team of wide receivers w/o a frigging QB! I cannot believe the institutional incompetence of LIPA.

Since LIPA can't get to customers fast enough, they should provide families with generators who currently doesn't have one and also should be resposible to pay for gas for those who currently have one in place. They are to blame since they weren't prepared as they claimed and didn't have backup crews readily available prior to the storm.

Yes, you are right!!!!! Are these officials sitting home with heat, hot water or electric??? Just wondering.......
Joann November 4, 2012 at 06:40 pm
Still no heat, no hot water and no electric, going on day 6. Don't live in a flood zone area and can't understand why power has not be restored. Everything in my refrigator and upright freezer is gone........LIPA should reimburse people for all this loss, just like Con-Ed is doing for their customers. What makes them the exception????

I know people hiring private tree cutters to avoid the LIPA Lunacy that A.Non and others are experiencing . Once cleared they have NO excuse.
To all - Please Beware the Broken light pole with Full Electric compliment on Prospect Ave, 4 blocks west of Vets Park. It is severly broken and looking to topple onto traffic, if a loud sneeze etupts near it

Exactly true. What makes them so wonderful? Is it the service they provide their customers with?
A. Nonymous November 4, 2012 at 09:21 pm
LIPA finally cut away the branches. I was told by LIPA not to hire a tree cutter w.hile the tree was entangled in power lines. Now that the linesman can connect the power I need to hire a tree man to get the tree out.

What's to look into? Neil Koenig was the owner. He's good friends with my cousin. My cousin toldRead More me "he couldn't make a go of it." The last time I was there was in December. The food was just ok and the service was horrible. Not one course was correct and we didn't even change anything from the menu description. Note to the waitress, the appetizer is NOT supposed to come for dessert!! And Rich is correct. The name was Buongusto's PieSano's. I hope the new owners (Lia's) stop serving Chocolate Mouse (should be Mousse) as per the sign on the Prospect Avenue side of the building.
