LIPA: More Than 3,000 Remain Without Power in East Meadow

Wednesday night's snowstorm added more outages to areas, according to LIPA.

The Long Island Power Authority (LIPA) is reporting that 3,623 customers in East Meadow are still without power as of 7:40 a.m. on Thursday.

Wednesday night's snowstorm added even more outages to areas that were already without electricity for 10 days.

In a statement on its website, LIPA officials said:

"LIPA is responding to the high winds, rain, and snow in our area today.  Last night's storm has caused additional damage and power outages and we will continue to deploy our significant workforce to address all power outages."
