Future shows in East Meadow all begin at 1 p.m. on the following dates:
- Sept. 30
- Oct. 28
- Nov. 25
- Dec. 23
Host and comedian Mark Brier, a professional comedian for 35 years, has brought the program to more than 90 libraries across New York State.
Each month he invites special guest comedians to East Meadow to take part in the 90-minute show and lets audience members participate. Comedians that have appeared at the library include Les Degen, Eric Haft, Greg Rahner, Monica Taller and Arlene Morgan.
Brier can appear in a one-man show or produce a "comedy extravaganza" with up to six comedians. He's appeared at mens' clubs, sisterhoods and church and synagogue groups all over the tri-state area and in Florida and has also brought his comedy show to cruise ships, comedy clubs and senior independent and assisted living residences.
"Bringing Laughs to our seniors is very rewarding," Brier said. "I do not just perform for people but with people. Every show is different. Nothing is planned out in advance."
