July 7: Support Group, Cake Decorating, Yoga

Some things to keep an eye out for today.

Good morning East Meadow! As we edge closer to the weekend, there's plenty happening in the local community. Here are some things to keep an eye out for today in East Meadow.

1. Weather: It looks like the nice weather comes to an end today, according to the National Weather Service. Experts are calling for scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 2 p.m. The high is expected to hit 89 degrees.

2. Adelphi University's Statewide Breast Cancer program will be offering for the summer of 2011. Women with breast cancer meet from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and women with metastatic breast cancer meet from noon to 1:30 p.m. today.

3. As part of the Thursday evening program, the young adult room will be hosting a at 8:30 p.m. Tweens and teens entering grades 6 through 12 will have a chance to make their own edible logo to put on a cake. There is a $2 materials fee.
