Some things to keep an eye out for today in East Meadow.

Good morning East Meadow! As we all try to get back into the groove of the work week, there's plenty going on in the local community. Here's a look at what's happening.

1. Weather: It looks like there's a chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon in East Meadow today, according to the National Weather Service. It's going to be mostly cloudy with a high near 78 degrees.

2. children's summer program will run from July 5 to Aug. 12 for this year. On Mondays and Wednesdays, there will be for 5 to 7 year olds from 1 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. For additional information, call the park at 516-296-7780.

3. The group will meet at the at noon. This group knits different items for the VA hospital, animal shelters and other charities.
