Jan. 27: Snow, Driver's Safety and a Wedding

Her's what's going on in East Meadow on this snowy Thursday.

As East Meadow residents wake up to the all-too-familiar feeling of snow on the ground and shoveling on the horizon, there are plenty of things to know about what's going on in East Meadow today. As of 7 a.m., schools have been cancelled and the same goes for the library. Here are some things to keep an eye out for in East Meadow today.

1. Weather: There will be plenty of shoveling for East Meadow residents today, and it is advised to help out wherever residents can. If you have a snow blower, share, and maybe a tragedy can be avoided. The National Weather Service is calling for a day that features mostly sun, with a high of 36 degrees before it gets quite a bit colder tonight.

2. As of right now, the scheduled to be held at 9:30 a.m. in the is still scheduled. If the library remains open, this could be an important event to attend.

3. The Nassau Community College Black History Month Committee presents an eight-character play that explores the changes that one family in particular, and a community in general, endures when their inner city neighborhood is slated for urban renewal. The show starts at 8 p.m.
