Jan 12: Woman Hit by Car, Doctor's Jeep Stolen, Intel Semifinalists

Some things to keep an eye on in the local community.

  1. A woman was hit by a car at around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in front of Cheaper Peepers in the Meadowbrook Shopping Plaza, police said. For the full story, click here.
  2. Nassau County Police are investigating a burglary which occurred Wednesday in East Meadow. According to detectives, the suspect allegedly stole Dr. John Zaso's jeep which has MD license plates and a blue light. For the full story, click here.
  3. Five students from the Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District have been named Intel Semifinalists for 2012. For the list, click here.
  4. Forty Mepham High School seniors will donate and deliver books to five first-grade classes in Giblyn Elementary School in Freeport as part of their senior service learning project. For that story, click here.
