Patch's "Get Out" Column lets East Meadow know what's going on for the weekend ahead.

Why Go: Powers’ Singles hosts this party, focusing on singles who have had enough of the speed-dating scene. Everyone will be personally introduced to other singles  (40’s-60’s) and enjoy dinner along with games and conversation.

Why Go: Enjoy the much anticipated Super Bowl in the company of other singles while indulging in a great buffet.

Where/When: Cultural Arts Playhouse in Plainview, Feb. 4 and Feb. 5 at 8 p.m.
Why Go: This Broadway phenomenon was inspired by the story of “La Boheme” and features young bohemians in New York City’s East Village struggling to overcome difficult times and the AIDS epidemic in pursuit of art and happiness. A longtime theatre lover’s favorite, the inspiring story will be sure to strike a chord with many.
