Former Karate Studio Remains Vacant

However, a new tenant may be on the horizon, says real estate broker.

In a struggling national economy, one thing is given- it's hard for local businesses to stay afloat. And no where is that apparent more than on East Meadow Avenue.

A stretch of road that boasts almost as many closed stores as ones that are open, East Meadow Avenue has certainly seen better days. One of it's vacant storefronts, a former karate school located at 293 East Meadow Ave., is one such example of the area's current economic woes.

However, the empty 1,100 square foot business may soon be getting a new tenant, says an agent at PDT Realty.

"Someone's looking to do a restaurant there," he said. "It's not a done deal yet, though, but they're interested."

Due to the set-up of the former karate school that had occupied the space previously, the store is currently ripe for pretty much any business that might want to set up there, said the agent.

"It's an empty, raw space," he said. "There are no offices or anything, it's all pretty straightforward. It's also got really good parking, with a big lot on the side of the building."

As for how long the property has been vacant, the PDT Realty agent wasn't exactly sure, although he estimated it had been some times since it had seen a tenant.

"I took it over a few months ago," he said. "I'm not exactly sure how long it had been on the market before that."

If you're a business owner and are interested in this property, you can direct inquiries to PDT Realty by calling 516-799-1900.
