As we get ready to close the book on 2011, people are looking for ways to celebrate the arrival of 2012. Here's a look at some local places that are having parties on Dec. 31.

Aura

Address: 1900 Hempstead Tpke., East Meadow

Description: Aura illuminates your New Year’s Eve with New York's only LED display screen ceiling and rings in 2012 with the east coast's only fully integrated German made D&B Audio sound system. Eat, drink and be merry with a complimentary dinner buffet until 10 p.m. The top shelf open bar will be open until midnight. An eclectic mix of music orchestrated by DJ's Sizzahandz and Dimitri.

Time: Doors open at 8 p.m.

Price: $50 in advance, $60 at the door.

Zachary’s

Address: 1916 Hempstead Tpke., East Meadow

Description: Kim Sozzi will be appearing live and will sing her new hit, "Crystallized" along with other top hits. Come join Video DJ Rio as there will be an exclusive CD giveaway of a year in review. There will be a top shelf open bar until midnight and a spectacular white glove dinner buffet until 10 p.m. There will also be hats, noise markers and party favors to go along with a midnight champagne toast.

Time: Doors open at 8 p.m.

Price: $50 in advance, $60 at the door.

Willie McBride's

Address: 101 Bedford Ave., Bellmore

Description: Just north of the Bellmore train station, at the foot of Bellmore Village, stands Willie McBride's. This unpretentious local watering hole has been at its current location for more than five years and offers comfortable, friendly service. Come on down on New Year's Eve and enjoy a complete open bar, a champagne toast and a buffet from 10 p.m. until 2 a.m.

Time: Open daily from noon until 4 a.m. (hours subject to change)

Price: $40 per person

Brokerage Comedy Club

Address: 2797 Merrick Rd, Bellmore

Description: Come get some laughs before the clock strikes 12 a.m. with Long Island favorite Mike Burton. Appearing with Nore Davis and Alex Barnett, Burton will be having shows at 7:30 p.m. and 10:15 p.m. The second show will conclude with a champagne toast at midnight. Food will be available from the extensive pub-style menu.

Time: Shows at 7:15 p.m. and 10:15 p.m.

Price: Tickets range from $25 to $35 per person. There is also a two drink minimum per person at the tables.

Left Coast Kitchen and Cocktails

Address: 1810 Merrick Rd, Merrick

Description: Left Coast Kitchen invites you to come party with them on New Year's Eve. There will be an Al La Carte menu from 7-9 p.m., which is open to the general public. Starting at 9 p.m., there will be a premium open bar and music with DJ SQ. There will also be an unlimited steak and lobster tail dinner, a midnight champagne toast and special giveaways.

Time: A La Carte Menu from 7-9 p.m. (general public) and party begins at 9 p.m.

Price: $125 per person (only 56 tickets left).
