Feb. 2: Groundhog Day, Chamber Dinner and Library Board

Here's what's going on today in East Meadow today.

It's another day with bad weather in East Meadow, although today has a different feeling to it. With the snow coming seemingly every other day, all eyes will be on a certain furry creature today. It's Groundhog Day, and hopefully Punxsutawney Phil will have something positive to say about the future of winter. Here's what's happening in East Meadow today.

1. Weather: It's going to be a rainy day in East Meadow, according to the National Weather Service. The high is projected to hit 40 degrees, so hopefully the rain will wash some of the snow off of the ground.

2. Russ Sacco, whose art has been displayed in the for all of January, will at 12:30 p.m. Special guest will be Will Hutchens, a subject of Russ' work and star of the 1957-1961 western TV series "Sugarfoot."

3. Also today, the East Meadow Library Board for its montly meeting. The public is invited. The meeting begins at 8 p.m.
