Family Astronomy Day

The East Meadow Public Library will host a variety of family friendly programs for Astronomy Day on Oct. 23. The schedule is as follows:

  • 2 & 4 p.m. - The Amateur Observers' Society will be holding programs for children between the ages of 8 and 13.
  • Every hour beginning at 1:15 p.m. - StarLab, the portabel plantetarium straight from the Cradle of Aviation, will be giving a show every hour. The last show will be at 4:15 p.m.
  • 3 p.m. - MicroObservatory's software will be available for middle school aged students through adults.
  • NASA Ambassador - a representative will be on hand to hold sessions on space.
  • Sun Gazing - special fliters on a telescope will be provided for viewing all day.

Other activities will include NASA's Space Place Games and children's crafts. The Inter-Gallactic Cafe will be serving up food. For additional information please call the library at (516) 794-2570.
