East Meadow Surprised to See Snow Arrive Early

Residents are out shoveling a lot earlier than they might have planned.

Despite the fact that early morning projections from the National Weather Service had the stronger snow arriving later this afternoon, Mother Nature had other plans. East Meadow residents already find themselves digging out as the white stuff starts to accumulate.

As of 1 p.m., LIPA wasn't dealing with any power outage issues in East Meadow, and there are only 11 active outages on Long Island.

Now, the National Weather Service has changed its tune, stating that East Meadow is slated to get 3-5 inches of snow during the day, with more snow accumulating over night. East Meadow may be looking at 13 inches of snowfall by the morning.
