East Meadow Native to Release Mystery Novel

Tim O'Mara, an East Meadow High School graduate, will release "Sacrifice Fly" this month.

Tim O'Mara, an East Meadow native and 1980 graduate of East Meadow High School, will release his new mystery, "Sacrifice Fly,"  on Oct. 16.

"Sacrifice Fly" follows teacher and ex-cop Raymond Donne's return to the mean streets of Brooklyn and his dangerous determination to bring a missing student home.

O'Mara, a teacher, was inspired to write the novel after making educational home visits in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, where the novel is set.

O'Mara has written several short stories and currently is finishing his second novel, Chin Music, a Raymond Donne mystery. For the past 12 years O'Mara has hosted and produced a bi-weekly reading series of poetry and prose in New York's East Village. He currently teaches middle school at The Computer School on Manhattan's Upper West Side.
