The library will team up with Long Island Traditions for the event.

East Meadow Public Library will host an accordion program with Long Island Traditions on Sunday.

The accordion is an instrument that is commonly used in very different cultures.

Joining in the program will be Irish, Dominican, and Portuguese musicians, with special guest, Marion Jacobson, the author of "Squeeze This! A Cultural History of the Accordion in America."

Long Island Traditions is an organization that is "dedicated to documenting the ethnic and occupational traditions and folk arts of Long Island, and its traditional architecture."

All reservations for the program can be made in the library's  public relations office, online at www.eastmeadow.info or by phone at (516) 794-2570 ext. 560. There is a two person maximum per reservation.
