East Meadow could get slammed with 15 inches of snow as the second major storm of 2014 hits.

As another major winter storm bears down on East Meadow, community centers, colleges and schools are announcing early dismissals, closures and/or cancellations.

Here's a rundown of what we know so far:

Common Core Public Forum: A public forum regarding Common Core curriculum and "high stakes testing" scheduled for this evening at the East Meadow Public Library has been cancelled.

East Meadow Public Schools: The East Meadow School District will be closed Wednesday, Jan. 22. 

East Meadow Public Library
: The East Meadow Public Library will close at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21.

Garbage/Recycling Pickup: Residents should follow the Town of Hempstead's Holiday Garbage Collection schedule for the week.

Saf-T-Swim: All Saf-T-Swim locations, including 625 Merrick Avenue in East Meadow, will close at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21.

NUMC Outpatient Sessions: Outpatient sessions in the five NuHealth Long Island Federally Qualified Family Health Centers located in Westbury, Roosevelt, Hempstead, Elmont and Freeport are as follows: The last outpatient session appointment for Tuesday, Jan. 21, at all five Family Health Centers will take place at 4 p.m. All outpatient sessions at all five Family Health Centers will open tomorrow at noon, Wednesday, Jan. 22. Patients can call 572-4671 with questions concerning the schedule.

Temple Emanu El of East Meadow: Temple Emanu-El of East Meadow will be closed for all activities beginning at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 21.

Town of Hempstead Parks: All parks programs and use of community rooms are canceled Tuesday, Jan. 21 and Wednesday, Jan. 22. Senior Enrichment transportation and programs are canceled Tuesday.

Nassau County Parks: Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano has announced the cancellation of activities and classes within the Nassau County Parks system Tuesday and the early closure of the Nassau County Aquatic Center at 4 p.m.  The Aquatic Center will re-open tomorrow, Wednesday, Jan. 22, at noon.

Nassau County Correctional Center: Visiting hours at the Nassau County Correctional Center are cancelled for tomorrow, Wednesday, Jan. 22.

Adelphi University: The Garden City campus will close Tuesday, Jan. 21 at 3 p.m. due to winter weather conditions. For a list of Radio and TV stations that carry school closing information, visit the University Closings page.

Nassau Community College: All classes, including online classes, and activities that begin at 2:30 p.m. or later at Nassau Community College are cancelled Tuesday, Jan. 21. Campus services, other than Public Safety and Physical Plant will also be cancelled. On Wednesday, Jan. 22, all classes, including online classes, and activities that begin at 2 p.m. or later will resume.

Hofstra University: Hofstra University will be closed as of 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21. Classes are cancelled, the library will be closed and university offices will be closed. For more info, click here.
