Boards Recap: State Champs, Swim-A-Thon, New Business

It was a busy week on Bellmore, Merrick and East Meadow Patch, and your neighbors shared a number of stories pertaining to the local community.

Here's a look at some interesting boards posts from the past week:

  • Lady Rebels State Champions: Congratulations to the NBNM Lady Rebels on winning the 2013 Williamsport 9-10 year old New York State Championship.
  • Red Cross Swim-A-Thon: On July 24, in the wee hours of the morning, swimmers of all ages from competing local town pools and swim teams came together to participate in a swim-a thon to benefit the American Red Cross
  • NCMCA Community Update: The North Bellmore/North Merrick community won! 1206 Bellmore Avenue Realty Group (“Citgo”) sought a permit from the Hempstead Town Board  to open a 24-hour gas station/convenient store at the corner of Bellmore and Park Avenues at its intersection with Jerusalem Avenue, where a Citgo station currently operates.  
  • A Bagel & A Schmeer: Hello to the neighborhood from myself the owner and operator of A Bagel & A Shmeer , located at 532 East Meadow Ave.
  • What is Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy and How Will It Help Me?: You probably first heard of hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBO therapy) with regard to deep sea divers who surfaced too quickly and suffered with decompression sickness, commonly called “the bends.”
