1. Weather: There's a chance of showers today in East Meadow, according to the National Weather Service. This is expected to arrive after 9 a.m., although the chance of precipitation is only 30 percent. The high temperature is expected to hit 73 degrees.

2. Parents are rejoicing in East Meadow today, as schools resumed. Children had been off since their last day of school on April 15.
