LaNovella's Restaurant - STAY AWAY!

I believe someone should review this restaurant again and his business practices. Our Annual PTA End of Year dinner was held in this restaurant last night. After talking with Mike and what he was going to offer us, on our budget, he penciled us in for 50 guests. He offered us alot of selections with open cash bar. The decor is outdated but we were hoping that his food wasn't the same. He came recommended so we booked the event. Last night came, was told soda and wine on the table (22 bottles of wine, opened and scattered amongst 3 large tables) and was no cost. My meal was just okay -- I had a few pet peeves, but that's okay. We went to pay the bill and noticed a $600.00 bar bill tacked onto our already per plate price. He opened 22 bottles of red and white wine and charged us $27.00 per bottle. 1/2 the guests didn't even drink the wine. Why assume everyone drinks wine - it was supposed to be cash open bar, which is was, another hundred or more was spent there as well. When confronted, he wouldn't budge. Said that's what someone agreed too - no one agreed to it. He was rude!! He started yelling and getting confrontational, passing the problem to others there. He didn't want to hear anything and in the process, went behind the bar and opened up a bottle of beer and started drinking!!?!?! HUH??? I couldn't believe it. He just took $600.00 from our students fund. He made over $2000.00 for a night he's normally closed and I hope he can sleep nights. I'm sure he will and can, as I'm sure he's done this before. No one OPENS wine for a table, 22 bottles at that, at least keep them closed... I will never go to this restaurant again ... I'm sure he does have regulars, but I will not be one of them - I suggest you find yourself a better place to dine.
