Dr. Eric D. Donnenfeld Assumes New Role as President of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery

Eric D. Donnenfeld, MD, an internationally respected refractive cataract surgery pioneer and LASIK eye surgeon, recently delivered his incoming address as president of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) in San Francisco. ASCRS is the largest ophthalmic surgical society in the world with over 9500 members. Dr. Donnenfeld spoke of the need for, “our national societies to demonstrate leadership based on what is in the best interest of our patients. We need our societies to educate the ophthalmologists of today and tomorrow.” Dr. Donnenfeld is a founding partner of Ophthalmic Consultants of Long Island (OCLI) and Connecticut, National Medical Director of TLC Laser Eye Centers and surgeon director of the Lions Eyebank of Long Island.
