Town of Hempstead Supervisor Kate Murray, as well as town employees, family and friends, recently participated in the annual March for Babies Walk in Eisenhower Park, according to a statement from the Town of Hempstead. Partnering with CSEA Local 880, which is the town’s employee labor union, the March for Babies team raised funds while spreading awareness. The proceeds raised go towards the March of Dimes.
“We are proud of our ongoing partnership with the March of Dimes in the fight against prematurity, infant mortality and birth defects,” said Murray in the statement. “I thank our dedicated group of employees, family members and friends for their efforts, as well as the continued support from CSEA Local 880.”
“Hempstead Town and CSEA have joined together for a variety of causes in the past, we are proud to show our continued support to the March for Babies,” said Charlie Sellitto, president of CSEA Local 880, in the statement. “As the rate of premature births increases it is important to raise awareness to our community and show how important it is to motivate one another and come together in the fight against this growing issue.”
