Norma Gonsalves Presents 2010 East Meadow Small Businessperson of the Year

Legislator Norma Gonsalves (R-East Meadow), who represents the 13th Legislative district for the Nassau County Legislature, honored Walter P. Skinner as the 2010 East Meadow Small Businessperson of the Year with a Nassau County Legislative Citation during the 26th annual breakfast. This award is given by the East Meadow Chamber of Commerce.

Skinner has resided in East Meadow for a long period and has been a very successful businessman. He has served as a president for the East Meadow Chamber of Commerce, a member of the board of directors for East Meadow Kiwanis, a participant of Pope Pius XII Council of Knights of Columbus and a PMT Committee member at various schools. Also a heavy participant in Boy Scout activities, Skinner is an Assistant Scout Master of Boy Scout Pack #291. He is currently a member of the East Meadow School District Board of Education.

“Walter is an integral part of the East Meadow community and his professional and personal devotion makes him truly worthy of this extraordinary honor," said  Legis. Gonsalves in a Feb. 10 press release from her office.
