Does it feel like there are more headlines about suicides?
If it does, and you want to help make a change, volunteer and make a difference. Long Island Crisis Center (LICC), the 24 hour-a-day, 7 day-a-week suicide prevention and crisis intervention hotline is currently recruiting volunteers to participate in its upcoming Counselor Assistant Training Program. No experience is necessary and the hours are flexible (around-the-clock) to accommodate the individual needs of volunteers.
The free, comprehensive orientation training program takes place over three three-hour sessions at the Crisis Center’s office in Bellmore. June’s training will be held on 3 successive Monday evenings from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on June 11, 18 and 25. July’s training will be held on 3 successive Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on July 14, 21 and 28.
