The Nassau County Bar Association recently named Elizabeth Pessala, of Westbury, as the 2012 President’s Award honoree due to her “dedication and excellent work in furthering the goals of NCBA as a Legislative Liaison for 6,000-member bar association,” according to a statement from the organization.
Pessala currently works as an Associate Village Justice for the Village of Westbury. Graduating from New York Law School in 1981, Pessala has worked “as a law clerk for various civil and criminal judges in Nassau County courts,” according to the statement.
She has worked at the Village of Westbury as a justice since 1995 and was appointed Deputy County Executive in 2000. Pessala has been a member of the Nassau County Bar Association’s Board of Directors, in addition to participating on various committees.
