Congresswoman Carolyn McCarthy, NuHealth President/CEO Arthur A. Gianelli , Board of Directors member Frank Saracino, Executive Vice President for Medical Affairs and Medical Director Dr. Steven J. Walerstein, and Chair Dr. Lyn Weiss recently toured the renovated physical medicine and rehabilitation unit at Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, according to a statement from NuHealth.
The unit helps those recovering from injury, accident, disease or other events and meets their unique medical needs. Congresswoman McCarthy assisted in the ribbon cutting of the new unit with Dr. Weiss and the staff.
“We are delighted and honored that Congresswoman McCarthy has joined with us today as we celebrate the opening of the newly renovated unit as NUMC has always worked to be at the cutting edge of quality care,” said Gianelli in the statement. “We now have specially designed areas to treat brain injured patients, as well as totally renovated physical, occupational, speech and recreational therapy areas. These services provide ongoing recovery options for patients with specialized staff dedicated to getting back patients’ lives in order after serious illness or injury.”
