Hunger Awareness Campaign, Business Ribbon Cuttings Today

Raise Awareness About Hunger Epidemic: By wearing orange (the color of hunger action) to the East Meadow Panera Bread (and any of the other Long Island locations) now through Sept. 22 or mentioning the name “Island Harvest” at the register, guests making a food purchase will receive a free orange shortbread cookie along with a coupon for a free breakfast to use on a future visit, the company announced. Dr. Munchies, The Nest: The East Meadow Chamber of Commerce will hold ribbon cutting ceremonies at Dr. Munchies and The Nest Bar & Lounge Tuesday at 1 and 1:30 p.m. respectively.
