East Meadow Chamber: Wednesday's East Meadow Chamber of Commerce general meeting has been rescheduled for Thursday, Sept. 12 at 6:30 p.m. at Majors Steakhouse, 284 East Meadow Ave. The cost is $25 per person. The meeting date was changed out of respect for Jewish members who will be observing Rosh Hashanah today beginning at sundown.

Intensified Police Patrols: Nassau County police will intensify patrols around temples and synagogues for the Jewish High Holy Days. Read more about this today at noon.
