Zorn's Shutters in East Meadow After Hurricane Sandy

A manager of the eatery said that there are no plans to reopen.

Another storefront has closed on Hempstead Turnpike, but this time it is due to Hurricane Sandy. Zorn's of East Meadow has closed its doors for good after the storm.

A manager of the eatery, who did not want their named published, said that the business suffered damages and power outages.

"It was the last straw," the manager said. "We don't plan to reopen."

The business first opened in East Meadow in 1998.

Hempstead Turnpike has been plagued with vacancies in the last year. Just last month, Hooters closed its doors after operating in East Meadow for more than 10 years.

Customers are urged to visit Zorn's locations in Bellmore (2495 Merrick Road) and Bethpage (4321 Hempstead Tpke). The Bethpage location has been around since 1940.
