Robbie Healy, East Meadow Football Win Big at Awards Ceremony

Healy was given the Thorpe Award and the Jets were rewarded with the Rutgers Cup.

East Meadow football's magical season just got a bit sweeter.

The Nassau County Champion Jets, who set a Nassau County record by scoring 544 points during the 2011 season, were awarded with the Rutgers Cup, which represents the best team on Long Island. East Meadow star running back Robbie Healy was bestowed with the Thorpe Award, which goes to the best player in Nassau County.

Healy set a Nassau County record of his own this year, accumulating 38 total touchdowns, which broke the record of 35 set by Freeport's Kevin Allen in 2009.
