NUMC Offers Housing for Employees Displaced By Sandy

Nassau University Medical Center has made temporary housing available this week to 38 employees and their families who were displaced by Hurricane Sandy. A total of 80 people will be residing in housing units on the medical center's campus.

"NuHealth’s employees have shown spectacular dedication and professionalism during Hurricane Sandy and continue to do so now as recovery progresses," Arthur A. Gianelli, president and CEO of the NuHealth System said.

The apartments will be able to be utilized until the employees are able to secure permanent replacement accommodations.

"Many are now homeless and others are living in homes without heat and electricity,"  Gianelli said. "We are very much concerned about their welfare."
