Lupus Walk In Eisenhower Park Set for Sunday

All the proceeds of the event will go to Lupus Alliance of America programs and services.

The Lupus Alliance of America's 19th Annual Walk Along for Lupus walk will take place in Eisenhower Park on Sunday.

The proceeds from walk will help fund all of Lupus Alliance of America programs and services, from kids groups and financial assistance programs to support groups, telephone counseling and education seminars.

Lupus is a chronic, autoimmune disease that can damage any part of the body including the skin, joints and organs inside the body, according to the Lupus Foundation of America website. More than 16,000 new cases of lupus are reported annually across the country.

The Lupus Alliance of America serves to support individuals and organizations that are involved in research to find a cure for lupus or to improve treatment of the disease.

Walk Along For Lupus will start at Field 6 in Eisenhower Park. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. and the walk will start at 10 a.m.
