A dead body was found at the Coliseum Motor Inn in East Meadow on Wednesday, police said.

"That's about all I can confirm for you at this point in time," Sergeant Christopher Cizmark of the First Precinct said. "It's in the room, so we are waiting for backup."

Police received a call at 2:34 p.m., and multiple first precinct units responded. As of 3:30 p.m., it's unknown whether any crimes were committed, police added.

The next step is for police to wait for the Homicide Squad to conduct its investigation.

"Whenever there is anyone deceased, it is always considered a crime scene unless it's determined that the death was from natural causes," Cizmark added.
